Hi everyone, our name is Sven Hamer, Lead Technical Designer, and Lila Grimaldi, Deck13 Story Designer. On May 16th we bring you Atlas Fallen, an epic and explosive RPG in which you play as a hero rebelling against the rule of a tyrannical god. You will explore a semi-open world covered in sand called Atlas and fight mythical creatures. Your hero powers come from a magical artifact, and we're here to tell you about its history and mechanics!
The Essence of Atlas
In the world of Atlas, essence is the foundation of everything. It consists of all organic matter and every particle of its sandy surface. An ancient form of magic based its powers on the essence, but knowledge of it was long lost. One day, our hero stumbles upon the remnants of that magic in the form of a centuries-old artifact: the gauntlet.
The gauntlet gives the user control over the entity that exists around them. Thus they can manipulate essence grains in objects, structures, elements and alter, assemble or destroy their structural integrity. With its help, our hero will turn the surrounding sand into various weapons during battle. The ability to manipulate the gauntlet's circumference allows players to take to the air for epic vertical moves and quick transitions as they glide across the sands of Atlas. The glove is a universal tool!

Unfortunately for our hero, it turns out that the gauntlet isn't working properly. Created by a mysterious being, it was mined as soon as it was created so that no one else could benefit from its magic. Two important components are required: a catalytic converter and parts.
The more essence that comes into play, the harder it is to control. The Catalyst's role is to gather Essence and channel it into itself, increasing your raw power tenfold. This component is divided into three parts called "Catalyst Parts" that you need to find and collect. Collecting a new Catalyst piece allows you to rebuild a piece of the gauntlet while also unlocking a powerful new ability. Each part of the Catalyst must be supplemented with special essence-infused items called "shards", which increase the hero's control over the essence.
During your journey into the world of Atlas, you will encounter these catalysts and gradually increase the power of your gauntlet as you progress through the game.
Transformed Weapons
If you have the ability to manipulate the essence, you can turn the sand around you into various weapons. To do this, you need to find a suitable weapon store. During your journey you will find three types of weapons: Dunorez, Sandlash and Nuckledust. As they gather essence during battle, they all become more massive and powerful, a process known as momentum.
The Dunorez is a heavy weapon that works wonders at dealing very effective AoE damage to opponents. Depending on the attacks you're running, this can take one of two different forms. One of them is the ax - it's perfect for big hits that deal a lot of damage and throw your target off balance; The other, the Hammer, specializes in crowd control and deals heavy damage when it hits the ground.
Sandwhip combines fast sword swings with wide whip swings. This is your fastest and most effective pulse weapon, offering a wide range of movement options. A great example of this is the sand whip: a move that allows you to latch onto your target and pull yourself towards it. This makes the Sandwhip a very versatile weapon, as you can use it to keep enemies at a safe distance while building momentum, or you can use its high mobility to quickly get into melee and melee combat. . . stab melee. consume momentum over time.
Finally, the Knuckledust is a weapon that covers both hands and expands into an additional pair of hands as the swing increases. Knuckledust inflicts high DPS against single targets, making it an ideal choice for quickly eliminating certain threats.
You can wield two weapons at the same time, which allows you to create unique outfits with your favorite moves. In addition to these weapons, your combat skills will be greatly improved if you use Essence Stones. This allows you to unleash unique and powerful attacks that can be customized to suit your preferred playstyle.
Ability to tame sand from battle
The sand taming abilities granted by the Gauntlet are not limited to shapeshifting. Here are three abilities that will allow you to traverse the world of Atlas with speed and power, and to interact with special objects and structures.
Air Pole can be used in the air, with the essence around you propelling you forward and flying through the air. With this ability, you can easily achieve a specific goal, reach the nearest structure to land, traverse large rocks, and cover large distances quickly.
Lift allows you to lift strange structures and buried objects with Essence in the Sand. This ability is important for discovering hidden treasures and sunken ruins, creating new paths over elevated structures, and even discovering long-forgotten paths.
Crush allows you to break magical seals and chains, allowing you to enter forbidden areas - a necessary step to advance your journey and change the course of Atlas' history.
