The Last Clockwinder brings clever automation puzzles to PS VR 2

You control the Clockwinder gloves, an amazing invention that lets you record everything you do with your hands and turn that action into a robot clone that repeats what you've done on a loop. These clones are called Gardeners and you will need their help to save your childhood home. Use the clones to harvest plants, start cars, even throw things at each other and catch them from across the room. There is no single solution to any challenge. you can build a rube goldberg machine with precision skills or bunnies. The only limit is your creativity.

The Last Clockwinder brings clever automation puzzles to PS VR 2

The Last Clockwinder is a unique combination of automation and puzzle game. The game has been widely recognized for its innovative design since its release and has received multiple awards, including Road to VR's Best PC VR Game 2022, Hardcore Gamer's Best VR Game 2022, and Dice Award Finalist in both VR categories. We are excited to bring The Last Clockwinder to PlayStation VR2 on February 22nd.

A mechanic created for virtual reality

We're big fans of automation games, but our favorite part about automation is providing instructions for the things you want to automate. Picking, dragging, moving around the timeline - it can get very static. This is where automation differs from clones.

In The Last Clockwinder, the only way to tell a clone what to do is to do it yourself. With the push of a button, start signing up. Your hands, head and all your inputs are registered in a short period of time. While recording, you can grab objects, throw and catch, use tools, anything. When the recording is finished, a clone of where you were appears and starts repeating your actions in a loop. Clones can be created in 2, 4 or 8 second loops and the recording system keeps the clones in sync. No need to play the violin.

Creating such an expressive and easy-to-use interface was only possible with virtual reality. With precise tracking and free 3D movement, there is no friction between thinking and doing. This is a very unique game mechanic for VR.

Research and optimization

To progress through the game, they must work together in groups of clones to gather plant resources. You'll use these resources for many things, powering up machines, planting new plants, and unlocking rooms within the clock tower.

Your clones stay behind when you leave the room and continue crafting and gathering resources while you're gone. You can go home later to plant new seeds or try a new clone design to make it more productive.

A challenge for the intelligent

Beating the main story of The Last Clockwinder requires skill and problem solving. But most puzzle rooms have optional challenges for players who want more. You will face stricter limits on the number of clones you can use; think carefully about where you can keep your clones and how to make each of them as efficient as possible.

History at your own pace

The story of The Last Clockwinder features an incredible voice cast, including Sissy Jones (Firewatch, Life is Strange) and Ray Chase (Final Fantasy XV). Throughout the Clock Tower you'll find recordings that can be paused or replayed, so you can experience the story at your own pace and without interrupting puzzle solving.

A world of clocks and flowers.

As a child, Jules lived in the Clock Tower, a structure built on a giant tree that contained rare plants from across the galaxy. The only other inhabitant of the clock tower was Clockwinder Edea, the guardian of the trees and their plants. It has been years since Jules left the clock tower when she received an ominous signal that Edea was missing and the clock tower was sinking into the sea. With the help of his pilot and business partner Levi, Jules goes to the Clock Tower to save his childhood home.

The clock tower is a unique place, ancient and full of history. The Clockwinder generation built on the work of its predecessors, creating technology that seemed to interact with the tree, flowing in and out organically. As it deteriorated, the line between nature and technology blurred more and more. Moss, fire shoes and rust transform the bell tower into a tapestry of life and decay.

The Last Clockwinder is the launch title for PS VR 2 and will be available on 22nd February.
