At PlayStation Productions, we are committed to bringing our great gaming intellectual property to new audiences, and we understand that adapting video games from one interactive environment to another is no easy task. In our late days at HBO, that means telling the game's fan-favorite story for TV in a believable and compelling way. Fortunately, the show's top creators are up for the fun task of bringing back the decades-old experience of creating video games and TV shows.
We've been blown away by the positive reception so far, and as we approach the finale in the coming weeks, I'm thrilled to bring the latest installment in Sony's Creator series to our end. In this two-part series, creators and actors talk about how they worked on games and shows. Among the participants:
- Neil Druckman, executive producer and co-president of Naughty Dog
- Craig Mazin, editor-in-chief
- Pedro Pascal Joel
- Beautiful Ramsay Turtle
- I, Asad Kizilbash, PlayStation Production Manager at SIE
In this first panel discussion, creators discuss the challenges and opportunities of bringing The Last of Us to HBO. Neil Druckman talks about his new creative experience in hosting a TV segment. Bela talks about Ellie's portrayal, which is a perfect blend of her own personality and that of her character. As fans blow cold air, Pedro wonders how he can walk through the snow, feigning a storm. Craig talks about the benefits of having detail-oriented enthusiasts on the production team and how nervous tension actually translates into care and attention.
Thank you to our final team for taking the time to share your amazing creative journey. Please enjoy and thanks for watching. Stay tuned part 2 will be out soon.
New episodes of Our Last Episode air Sundays at 6pm PT on HBO. Those looking to experience Joel and Ellie's journey with The Last of Us will be able to come to PS5 now and PC on March 28th.
