Narrative-driven sci-fi RPG Citizen Sleeper rolls onto PlayStation March 31

Hi, my name is Gareth Damian Martin and I'm a solo developer of Citizen Sleeper, one of the hottest indie games of 2022, releasing March 31st on PS4 and PS5. It's been a wild ride since its release last May, and I've been blown away by the support, positive press, and award nominations. As a longtime PlayStation player, I'm thrilled to finally bring the game and all of its DLC to PS4 and PS5.

Complete and extended

Since its release, Citizen Sleeper has only grown and continued on that path with a series of three-part DLC that expands on its world and story. In the first episode, "Flux", a refugee fleet arrives at the ring-shaped space station Eye of Erlynne. In Episode 2, Refuge, a new threat to the future of the station is revealed. The PlayStation version will be released alongside the third and final chapter of Purge, which concludes the story of the Flotilla and the game as a whole. This means players starting March 31st will have the full game and all related DLC from the start.

rolls and rolls

But what do you do when you decide to build a life in Erlin's eyes? Citizen Sleeper is an RPG with a sci-fi storyline, but it's like nothing you've ever played before. Inspired by tabletop RPGs, you roll the dice in each "loop" and then decide how best to use them.

Whether it's swapping poles to earn a few extra tokens, or investigating an entire resort's conspiracy, everything in the game uses dice to determine the outcome. The result is a huge world filled with different paths and endings, as well as many characters to meet. You must carefully consider which dice to use for what, and face bad outcomes and difficult decisions.

allies and enemies

The character design is a big part of what makes players fall in love with Citizen Sleeper. To create a diverse cast of scavengers, bartenders, cooks, mercenaries and more, I collaborated with French cartoonist Guillaume Singellin. Guillaume's art brings a nice human touch to the sometimes melancholic and harsh world of Citizen Sleeper, and you get to choose which cute characters you want to spend time with.

This is the essence of Citizen Sleeper: building a life and community in a sci-fi world that feels both humane and emotionally meaningful. I hope you try it before March 31st and join the 500,000+ people who make a living from The Eye.
