PixelJunk is back on PlayStation. I'm Dylan Cuthbert and I'm the founder of indie studio Q-Games, and I'm excited to announce that our crazy party game PixelJunk Scrappers Deluxe is coming to PlayStation. The game is coming to PS5 and PS4 later this year, and we can't wait to share what we've been working on.
The PixelJunk game series recently celebrated its 15th anniversary. We're excited to return to the spiritual home of PixelJunk on PlayStation with a new entry in the series. We've got our first trailer to share, as well as an in-depth look at what you can expect at launch, so let's get started.

slam dunk garbage
PixelJunk Scrappers Deluxe combines the nostalgia of traditional arcade games with the multiplayer madness of classic co-op games in a true hybrid. It's a victory over them, but it's also a cleanup focused on cleaning up the streets of Junktown. Both literally a pile of trash and figuratively waves of destroying enemy robots. Garbage means money on these streets, and your reward increases with the number of objects (and enemies destroyed) you throw behind the garbage truck.
We set out to create a fun game that's easy to pick up and play, but hard to master. It takes a lot of skill to defeat the most dangerous scavenger robots in PixelJunk Scrappers Deluxe. You can play with SCRAP, our AI robot helper, or share the fun with up to four players locally or online in cross-platform play.
As you progress, you'll fight giant enemies, shoot trash into the sky, and chat with friends along the way. From co-op missions to skirmishes, mini-games and boss battles, no trip to Junktown will be the same. Plus, there are tons of weapons to choose from, tons of mechanics to hire, and over 100 unique truck parts to unlock.
Clean up the streets of Junktown
Q-Games has been based in Kyoto for over 22 years, so it was great to take inspiration from our favorite places and traditions and see them in the cyberpunk streets of the game. There are over 25 levels to explore across 5 vibrant areas of Junktown, each inspired by the eclectic sights and sounds of Japan.

The fourth area on the world map is Kawaii Kyoto, and we really went to town to pay homage to some of our cherished places and traditions from around the region. From the bamboo forests of Arashiyama to robot collectors inspired by the traditional Japanese dance of Ava, the design of the world means a lot to us, and we hope you enjoy exploring it as much as we enjoy bringing it to life.
On behalf of everyone at Q-Games, we look forward to welcoming you to Junktown to help clean up the streets when PixelJunk Scrappers Deluxe hits PlayStation later this year.
Let's go junkies!
