The Negro leagues are an important part of baseball and American history, with notable figures who are not as well known as other baseball players of their time. We intend to use MLB The Show as a gateway to introduce a new generation of baseball fans to these historical figures and their stories of success in times of adversity.

You may be wondering how to accomplish such a daunting task. Enter a new game mode in MLB The Show 23, Storylines*. Focusing on a specific player, users experience an entertaining narrative journey through short informative videos, followed by gameplay that reflects key moments in the player's life.

We couldn't be happier to finally bring the Black Leagues to MLB The Show. This is a special project from the San Diego studio, and we are so grateful and honored to partner with the families of the players, the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum and NBA President Bob Kendrick in bringing these stories through video games.

MLB The Show 23 (Stories Season 1*) features eight Negro league players and their stories, as told by Bob Kendrick. Through this multi-year partnership with the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, our goals align with those of the museums to educate, enlighten and inspire as we celebrate the rich history of the Negro Leagues. Each episode of MLB The Show ushers in a new season as we feature new Negro League legends and their stories to celebrate these lesser-known baseball stars. MLB The Show 23 is the inaugural season and next year's game will be the second season.

To celebrate a historic partnership with the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. MLB The Show and San Diego Studios are thrilled to donate $1 to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum for every MLB The Show 23 Collector's Edition sold in the United States. Digital Deluxe and Captain's Edition are now included until December 31, 2023.
