A Nitty Gritty Look At PowerWash Simulator’s Final Fantasy VII Content, Out March 2

In Midgar, slums fill with people, Mako stoves burn, the earth crumbles to dust; Light winds blow the smoky air. The whole place could use a good hose. A new hero emerges from the mist, clad in a blue...electric puck.

Well, you can't save the world from the horrors of Sinra, but now you can clean it up! As Avalanche battles Shinra, you'll be dealing with a drop. The only power struggle you have to face is to protect the puck.

We're proud to be working with the Final Fantasy VII team to bring Powerwash simulator players to one of the game's most iconic cities in a new and original way. Players will fall in love all over again with the new Midgar Special Pack, releasing on March 2nd.

Free for all Powerwash Simulator owners, this expansion features five brand new maps to wash and explore with awesome locations, vehicles and machines. To take a closer look at the inspiration behind the Scorpion Sentinel and Seventh Heaven levels, I'll reach out to some of the designers working on the Midgar Special Pack at the FutureLab.

Guardian Mighty Scorpion

One of the most memorable boss fights in Final Fantasy VII is undoubtedly the Scorpion Sentinel, making it the perfect case for the Midgar Special Pack. Players will encounter the Sentinels before using them against members of the Avalanche, where Shinra reveals they will undergo a series of tests to assess their various defensive abilities.

We've introduced a lot of scratches and bullet reflections from a new type of terrain combat damage. Additionally, the Scorpion Sentinel contains the results of an experiment on one of Professor Hojo's samples, as evidenced by the organic remains scattered throughout the machine following the creature's attack. Since the Sentinels are powered by Mako (my favorite poop), we placed them in key spots to show how the Sentinels achieve their abilities. The rest of the dirt is mostly dirt accumulated during the various tests the Scorpion Sentinel has undergone.

“When we were recreating the iconic Scorpion Sentinel in Powerwash Simulator, we really wanted the Sentinel to feel alive, which allows for various animations like its spinning eyes and claws. We want to be able to interact with it so players can move the Sentinel's arm to get different clearance angles."

The magical seventh heaven

In order to get the special Midgar pack, we had to battle Sector 7's best bar and snow house, Seventh Heaven. Not only does it give players the chance to hear about popular FFVII characters like Cloud and Tifa (although it's also able to take down some of the best weapons in the game, like Barrett's gun and Cloud's slashing sword), but our ego Perspective gives us a closer look.
