Hello, I'm Rupert, Game Director of Saga of Sins. My team at Bonus Level Entertainment and I are very grateful and excited to announce the new playable creatures for game three today.
But first I would like to give you some background on the making of Sin Saga.
It is urgent. Create something useful. Something fresh and timely is the most valuable thing you - the players - can give us. That's our job as (indie) developers.
This is how the idea of a new subgenre was born: Story Toys!
A story that combines remarkable internal conflicts, twists and turns, and multiple endings with rewarding arcade gameplay. RPG elements, secrets, collectibles, and new advancements should bring the experience to life through a mirrored art style that fits the game's setting. A game inspired by the paintings of Hieronymus Bosch (1450 -1516) that I have admired since childhood.
So here it is: In Saga of Sins, you play the role of the pious priest Cecil - four unique demonic creatures that invade people's minds like a howling wolf or a rampaging chariot - to fight the seven deadly sins and save them from their sins to free . The plague hits the town of Sinwell.
Each animal has unique abilities and types of hits that can be upgraded, and you can switch between them after unlocking them. An incredible boost of energy that they all have in common.
And finally, the third monstrous creature we're announcing today: the Mighty Griffin!
This ancient monster is a symbol of loyalty and trust, but is even more ruthless when staring down sinners. If it weren't for this monstrous creature's craving for human liver, our humble hero Cecil wouldn't feel the need to change so much when he enters the 31 villages of Sinwell.
Sinful Minds offers action levels and boss fights that are based on the seven deadly sins such as anger, sloth, envy, jealousy, greed, pride or gluttony.
In contrast, Innocent Minds offers various puzzles, riddles or skill challenges to spice up the whole experience. Go into a village and be amazed at what you can find! Things can change a little...
The Griffin's weapon is a long-range shot that can be upgraded like the Gargoyle's Fire Breath or the Werewolf's Triple Strike, giving gold to the images found around Sinwell in the center of the game.
Extended Shot can fire two or four at once, making the Griffon very powerful in combat. So be sure to loot lots of treasure chests (seven per level and some well-hidden ones) and power dash multiple enemies at once to make them drop double the gold!
The biggest benefit, however, comes with the powerful Griffin Wall. He's the only one who can scale special vine-covered walls to reach new heights, discover secrets, or find enemies on the edge.
Of course, every demonic creature has a special ability. The Werewolf's The Howl's Revelation shatters broken glass to find hidden chests, while the Gargoyle's Flame Breath can set certain objects on fire to clear a path or solve puzzles.
Priests who invade people's minds as demonic beings. Is that humble?
Is Cecil doing the right thing, or is he following a crusade-like order when he leaves his country? Doubts arise. However, things started to bother him from time to time. Is Cecil losing his faith...or his sanity?
We hope you are a little happier and more true to yourself today. We put all our hearts and minds into developing Sin Saga and would appreciate it if you could take the time to play it.
Saga of Sins launches digitally on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, supporting English (VO), French, Italian, German, Spanish, Dutch, Latin American Spanish and Portuguese.
