No Man’s Sky 4.0 WayPoint Update Overhauls Gameplay Fundamentals

No Man’s Sky 4.0 WayPoint Update overhauls gameplay fundamentals

Hello! 2022 was one of the busiest years for No Man's Sky on PlayStation, with the release of the Sentinel, Outlaws, Leviathan and Endurance updates, as well as several other major expeditions, all free for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation VR owners. :

But that's not all. We're excited to announce that our 4.0 update, Waypoint, is available for download today.

Waypoint overhauls design and balance, including inventory, stages, cataloging, and game modes. It also includes hundreds of quality of life improvements including macro and micro.

The inventory has been reworked and the maximum level of ships, weapons and players has been significantly increased. Survival, crafting, combat and management can now be customized to suit travelers unique play style.

Relaxed mode allows for a new approach to sandbox exploration for both old and new travelers alike. Meanwhile, returning players are provided with a new information portal that summarizes their goals and progress.

For longtime players, the new stage system, new collectibles, and improved mission content bring new long-term goals and objectives. With new optimizations and remnants, Waypoint allows players to enjoy twenty major upgrades in one.

We hope now is the best time to become a No Man's Sky player, whether you're an early explorer who enjoys our relaxed mode, a returning player who welcomes more consistent gameplay, or a core player who wants to raise the level cap and improving the quality of life for hundreds.

The transition from version 3.0 to version 4.0 is probably our biggest generational leap. It's an exciting time, a solid foundation for future updates. We can't wait for players to experience Waypoint on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation VR starting today.

Our journey continues.
